Q: What is Police Academy's Status Check?

A: Status Check is a way for officers to have a voice, and affect the narrative, anytime, anywhere, without the fear of retaliation of any kind. Officers can upload audio or written content, which is then posted to the Status Check site and distributed through various media channels. No identification information is attached to content after it is processed and posted to the site.

Q: How do I get signed up?

A: Departments can enroll their officers by filling out the department sign up form. Individual officers can sign up here.

Q: How does it work?

A: Once enrolled, officers simply log in to record/write their thoughts. When content is received, it will be reviewed and posted to the Status Check site, shared via the Status Check social media outlets, and possibly aired on the Police Academy Podcast. We may contact news media to further increase public exposure.

Q: Where do the audio files go?

A: Each status is unique. If approved, it will be posted on the website. If selected, it may also be shared on the Police Academy Podcast and through other social media and traditional media outlets.

Q: How long does processing take?

A: We will review and post your status as fast as we can. Depending on volume and manpower, it may take a few minutes to a few days. If you haven't seen yours after a week, let us know and we'll get to the bottom of things.

Q: Who created Status Check?

A: Status Check was created by Terence Herrick, a former Police Officer and current producer of the Police Academy Podcast. Terence is driven to inform the public with real and honest truth about the most pressing police issues of today.
